Austria live
Webcams in Austria connect Vienna, historic cities, Alpine valleys, lakes and winter-sports destinations.
The Alps cover much of the country, while the Danube crosses the northeast and reaches Vienna. Inhabited valleys, mountain passes, forests and ski areas dominate many views; snow, low cloud and changing light on the slopes make the live scenes especially varied.
For centuries Vienna stood at the centre of Habsburg lands and later the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The republic was established after the empire ended in 1918, but palaces, abbeys, theatres and historic centres still reflect Austria’s cultural and political role in Europe.
Vienna offers museums, imperial palaces and districts along the Danube; Salzburg preserves a Baroque centre surrounded by mountains. Innsbruck, Tyrol, the Salzkammergut lakes and the valleys of Vorarlberg and Carinthia show the country’s Alpine character.
