Lerici, Baia Blu and Venere Azzurra live

Two webcams look over Baia Blu and Venere Azzurra, beaches on the Gulf of Poets close to the centre of Lerici.

The images show the colour and movement of the sea, coastal visibility and how busy the beaches are. The two bays have different orientations and profiles.

Headlands, seaside villages and sheltered coves give the eastern side of the Gulf of La Spezia its distinctive character.

History and local identity

Lerici grew as a port contested by Genoa and Pisa, and its castle still dominates the entrance to the bay. The gulf is also associated with writers and travellers, giving rise to the name Gulf of Poets.
