The coastline alternates sand, rocks and Mediterranean scrub, while the town itself lies a few kilometres inland.

History and local identity

The tower was built during the Spanish period as part of the coastal defence system against raids from the sea. The area also preserves nuraghi and evidence of much earlier settlement.
