Assisi live: basilica, squares and panorama

Assisi’s webcams bring together views of the Basilica of Saint Francis, Piazza del Comune, Piazza San Rufino and the wider city skyline.

The cameras move from major monumental spaces to the panorama of the historic centre on the slopes of Monte Subasio. One live view is also dedicated to Calendimaggio, an especially important event in the city’s cultural life.

Together, the webcams let you compare visitor numbers, light and sky conditions from different viewpoints, giving a broader sense of Assisi than a single camera could provide.

History and local identity

Assisi developed on the slopes of Monte Subasio above the Roman settlement of Asisium. The lives of Francis and Clare made the city an international spiritual centre, set within a medieval townscape of pale stone.
