Noepoli, ancient Noja, overlooking the Sarmento Valley.
The live image shows the centre, sky and rolling landscape leading towards the Pollino mountains. The compact outline of the settlement still retains a medieval character.
Gateways, narrow lanes and churches accompany a walk through the historic core, while the valley below opens routes towards woodland and other Sarmento communities.
History, landscape and landmarks that help interpret what appears in the live images.
Known for centuries as Noja, the town was a feudal centre of the Sanseverino family and preserves memories of struggles between the great southern nobility and the Angevin monarchy. Structures from the former castle were incorporated into the urban fabric.
Senise, Cersosimo, San Costantino Albanese and Terranova di Pollino provide routes through the valley and national park.
The different live views make it possible to compare districts, light, visibility and city movement at the same moment. The guide grows with the archive, keeping each webcam connected to the place it actually shows.
